The Hand Foundation NJ SpEd Programs/Exceptional People - Mental Health serves individuals with developmental disabilities, and provides the support they need to live more independent lives. Our mission is to educate, encourage, and empower individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities to pursue their interests, learn to care for their needs as independently as possible, and to become proactive members of their communities.The Hand Foundation NJ SpEd Programs/Exceptional People - Mental Health provides education, family supports and training to professionals and individuals with special needs, autism and other developmental disabilities. Our focus is to help families overcome the lifelong obstacles they face in helping individuals with disabilities.
- Hand Foundation NJ SpEd Programs/Exceptional People - Mental Health emphasizes an inclusive environment that requires individuals with special needs to be socially and academically integrated to the maximum extent possible. Our programs are designed to assist individuals with intellectual disabilities to continue academic, career and technical and independent living instruction in order to prepare for employment.
Services We Provide:
- The focus of our programs is to engage and embrace individuals with disabilities to develop interpersonal, interactive and intellectual skills with people from the community. Individuals and families with disabilities are encouraged, mentored, and coached, with the guidance of a caring team to be productive individuals in their communities. The Hand Foundation SpEd programs/Exceptional People - Mental Health recognizes that in building an inclusive community where individual differences are accepted we help to build awareness in our communities, advocate and promote an inclusive culture where everyone feels accepted, supported, challenged and affirmed.
